Fees, booking, Medicare & Insurance

FEES

Southwest Trauma Therapy operates as a collective of independent practitioners.

Dr Andy Harkin, Ann Harkin and Leigh Milne each operate as separate clinicians with:

• Their own professional registration and insurance
• Their own booking systems and practice software
• Their own fee structures
• Their own clinical governance

Book your Practitoner

When booking, you are booking directly with the individual practitioner, not with Southwest Trauma Therapy as a single billing entity.

MEDICARE
&
PRIVATE HEALTH

Medicare rebates are available with eligible practitioners if you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP.

Medicare Available With:

• Dr Andy Harkin
• Leigh Milne

If eligible, Medicare rebates can be processed through the individual practitioner’s practice software.

Not Available With:

• Ann Harkin

Ann operates as a private practitioner and does not provide Medicare rebates. Some clients prefer private therapy without Medicare involvement, as Medicare claims are recorded within the My Health Record system. Private sessions allow therapy to remain entirely outside government health records.

Insurance & Rebates

Depending on your level of private health insurance, rebates may be available for sessions with registered practitioners. Please check directly with your health fund to confirm eligibility.

NDIS and DVA

Depending on your level of private health insurance, rebates may be available for sessions with registered practitioners. Please check directly with your health fund to confirm eligibility.

Workers Compensation & EAP Referrals

Southwest Trauma Therapy practitioners accept Workers Compensation and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) referrals where approved.

As each clinician operates independently, all required documentation and written approval from your insurer, employer or EAP provider must be received prior to the commencement of sessions.

This includes:

• Formal referral documentation
• Claim number (for Workers Compensation)
• Written confirmation of funding approval
• Details of the approved number of sessions

Sessions cannot commence until funding approval has been confirmed in writing by the relevant insurer or organisation.

If approval is not received prior to your appointment, the session will be billed privately at the practitioner’s standard rate.

Please contact your chosen practitioner directly if you require assistance with referral documentation.

Cancellation Policy

Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you.

We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

If less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, or if you do not attend your scheduled appointment, the full session fee will be charged for the loss of appointment time.

This policy applies to all clients, including those attending under:

• Medicare
• Private health
• NDIS
• Workers Compensation
• EAP funding

Missed or late-cancelled appointments are not claimable through Medicare or insurers and will be billed directly to the client.

We appreciate your understanding, as late cancellations prevent us from offering that appointment time to another client in need.
